Dogs Being Dogs
Living with Tornjaks is a different experience than living with other breeds. We do not expect these ancient livestock guardians to behave like dogs bred for obedience. Instead, we live alongside them as partners, respecting the instincts that define them. Their barking is not a nuisance but a form of communication; their suspicion of strangers, a mark of intelligence and devotion.
Although always vigilant, our Tornjaks frequently enjoy playful romps, being silly and getting lots of snuggles. To us, the truest beauty of the Tornjak is revealed when we give them the freedom to be themselves — loyal, watchful, playful and proud.
